Heather Wiszczur Selected as Finalist for Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year

Sep 22, 2011

Congratulations to Heather Wiszczur, one of Our Hope's excellent Clinical Therapists, who has been selected by the YNPN Board as one of five Finalists out of a pool of eighty nominations for the 2011 Grand Rapids Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year (www.ynpngr.org/awards).  The winner will be selected by a panel of nonprofit leaders from the Greater Grand Rapids Area and announced at the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Leadership Awards Dinner on November 3.

Heather has always excelled in her role as a Masters Level Clinical Therapist at Our Hope, as her many clients in recovery will attest.  Over the last year, however, she has consistently shown that she is willing to stretch far beyond what she was hired to do and contribute to helping ensure Our Hope's strength as a sustaining organization dedicated to helping women achieve lifelong recovery from alcoholism, addiction and the mental health and emotional conditions so often related to these diseases.  While Heather worked part-time as a therapist, enabling her to spend time raising her young family, she also designed and introduced two new services (Acupuncture Detoxification Therapy and our unique "Recovering Motherhood" education program), created and maintains Our Hope's Facebook page, wrote much of the content on this beautiful new website and has written several articles that appear on this site aimed at further helping women in recovery and their loved ones.

The Staff and Board of Our Hope is very grateful for Heather's dedication and congratulate her for this outstanding and well-deserved recognition.
