The TLC fund was established by Our Hope’s “Visions of Hope” Volunteer Committee with proceeds from their 2010 “Shower of Love” event. It provides for maintenance and improvement of Our Hope’s physical facilities and property in the historic Heritage Hill neighborhood of Grand Rapids. The main Residence was built in 1880 and requires much upkeep to maintain it as a dignified home-like environment for women to do the difficult work recovery requires.
This fund accepts in-kind donations, like landscaping, construction and interior design services, as well as physical donations, like linens/bedding, furniture and kitchen equipment (click here for our most recent Wish List of smaller items) , but primarily benefits from monetary donations to help cover major expenses. Current needs are detailed here and include insulation of the 3rd floor Arts & Crafts Room, repair of and storms for Our Hope’s 30 windows, painting the Residence, and repaving of the driveway and parking lot. One generous donor not only provided the funds for, but also did all of the work to completely remodel the Sun Room of the Residence, now a favorite spot for the women to relax. If you are interested in helping to improve and/or maintain Our Hope’s gracious Residence, the Carriage House or our property, your directed donation to the TLC Fund is welcome.
