Who We Are

"At , we provide the residents with a comfortable style of living to enhance their motivation toward recovery. The goal of residence in is to give a supportive, family-like setting, which will provide women with the opportunity to learn effective, family-oriented coping skills that can aid them after their return to their home.

The program objectives focus on:

Providing a residential setting where chemically dependent women can safely live without the use of mood altering chemicals.

Providing counseling and education to create an environment where each resident can learn to make choices consistent with the recovery process, develop meaningful supportive relationships, safely practice new behaviors, and return to employment and financial and social responsibility.

Supervised at all times, each resident shares in all the domestic responsibilities in the household. This not only gives her a sense of responsibility and accomplishment, it helps to form partnerships with the other residents, thereby supplying each with a support network. Additionally, this approach provides the resident with life and relationship skills that will be necessary for her own survival and help prepare her for living independently of at the close of her treatment program.

Combined with a lovely home-like setting, nutritional meals prepared by the residents themselves and a very busy schedule, the resident has an opportunity to recover from substance abuse under quality conditions.

As women become part of an intimate and caring therapeutic community, every facet of their daily routine becomes part of their treatment.

The treatment approach at is based on the understanding that drug and alcohol dependency can best be treated if the complexity of the condition is acknowledged. This means taking into consideration the interactive nature of cultural, social, psychological and physical factors. This approach is designed to promote changes in thinking, behavior, feelings, emotions, reactions and to increase self worth. We also enable residents to seek out and utilize the outside women's recovering community and 12 Step programs.
The average stay at is 100 days. However, this time period varies depending on the individual treatment plans established for each client.

After discharge, residents often continue supportive contacts established during treatment. We have found that a referral to the Intensive Outpatient Program after discharge from residential services has proven effective with many women in continuing their recovery. In addition, ongoing Alumnae Support Group is always recommended post discharge. "
