House Manager

Position Summary:

 

The House Manager is responsible for supporting Our Hope Association by performing a variety of duties and projects related to the residential care of Our Hope clients. Manage the Our Hope residential house, including supervision of all residential services specialist staff members. Work as a team to provide the best possible quality clinical care staying within the scope of the profession.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Greets all visitors to Our Hope, providing direction as needed. Provides a welcoming environment for all clients and guests at all times.

2. Provides facilities assistance in offices and living spaces of Our Hope. Address any maintenance needs of the facility or grounds or outsource the project with the approval of the Executive Director. Responds to all emergency maintenance requests of the clients served.

3. Performs routine inspections of all Our Hope equipment and procedures related to equipment use and safety. Completes monthly or quarterly reports, as indicated by Our Hope compliance standards on safety equipment.

4. Maintains a brief record of client’s activities during the shift to facilitate good communication between all team members. Documents as needed on the Feedback Log or in Progress notes, using professional and appropriate documentation standards.

5. Makes referrals in crisis situations, any emergency.

6. Reports serious infractions, with authority to discharge clients, if appropriate, and communication with the clinical on-call staff.

7. Assists and trains staff and clients on safety procedures. Conducts routine fire, tornado, and safety drills.

8. Updates or creates new policies and procedures as needed related to Health and Safety.

9. Assists with conflict resolution amongst clients and staff with preparation to intervene.

10. Maintains competency in policy rules and regulations for health and safety requirements.

11. Monitors medications for clients and record all medications on client medication forms. Performs medication counts, including controlled medication counts, and document accurately. Always ensure safety of medication cart. Assists in the processing of medication scripts and pick-up medications as needed.

12. Supervises all residential services specialist staff members. Completes the monthly schedule, provides feedback, and performs all HR functions related to these staff, including but not limited to: hiring, termination, progressive disciplinary action, performance improvement plans, and documented discussions.

13. Practices and upholds the Our Hope Standards of Excellence.

Non-Essential Responsibilities:

1. Provides back-up assistance to other areas of the organization.

2. Drives Clients to 12 step meetings, recovery supports, and appointments as needed.

3. Additional duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director or Operations Director.

Supervision Received:

General Direction: Plans and arranges own work. Uses a wide range of procedures to accomplish assigned objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Advanced supervision: Determines work assignments, priorities, and procedures for subordinates. Responsible for assigning, scheduling, and ensuring the quality and quantity of work. Approves time off and schedule adjustments. Provides training and coaching.

Education & Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree specializing in Social Work or related field or equivalent work experience.

2. Experience in chemical dependency and mental health.

3. Current certification in First Aid and CPR.

4. Valid driver’s license and CDL license.

5. Certified Recovery Coach Credential preferred.

 

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Knowledge of gender-specific treatment interventions.

2. Demonstrated ability with word processing software and office equipment.

3. Organizational and time management skills.

4. Capable of monitoring facilities and grounds.

5. Good communications skills, decision-making ability, and self-motivation.

6. Ability to work with a team milieu approach to treatment of women.

7. Knowledge of community resources, 12 Step programs, evidence-based practices, and counseling theories.
