Nurse

Position Summary:

The Nurse at Our Hope Association will provide quality care to all clients while maintaining respect, dignity, and confidentiality. The Nurse will assume responsibility and accountability for a group of clients’ trying to seek healing from the disease of addiction.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Greet all visitors to Our Hope, providing direction as needed. Provide a welcoming environment for all clients and guests at all times.

  2. Perform necessary clinical functions to facilitate the delivery of quality care within the facility.

  3. Attend required meetings and all facilities trainings.

  4. Work in a manner that preserves the client’s confidentiality.

  5. Respect the client throughout every aspect of care.

  6. Triage client’s needs in a timely manner.

  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.

  8. Conduct an alcohol or other drug-focused nursing assessment upon admission

  9. Monitor, record, and report any changes in the client’s condition.

  10. Report pertinent information to the oncoming nursing staff.

  11. Administer and monitor prescription medications

  12. Administer and Read TB skin test.

  13. Monitor client’s medication usage and results.

  14. Educate clients

  15. Maintain all equipment and notify proper staff if maintenance is needed.

  16. Punctual for oncoming shift.

  17. Communicate as appropriate to other healthcare team members (i.e. physician, nurse, therapist)

  18. Perform appropriate treatments as ordered by the physician in an accurate and timely manner

  19. Observe and interpret client’s symptoms and communicating them to physicians.

  20. Perform routine procedures and document appropriately (i.e. vital signs, administering injections)

  21. Maintain the use of standard precautions where applicable

  22. Demonstrates effective communication skills, and continue to work on any communication barriers

  23. Follow the standards and guidelines set by CARF and the State Licensing

  24. Promote Our Hope Association and uphold its values, principles, and policies

  25. Monitor the effectiveness of treatments

  26. Distributing oral medications

  27. Collecting blood specimens as needed

  28. Follow mandated reporter guidelines for  the State of Michigan

  29. Continuously drive and support a healthy and safe culture.

  30. Maintain competency in policy rules and regulations.

  31. Provide educational, didactic group sessions for clients, when needed.

  32. Utilize the Insync EMR (Electronic Medical Record) for client record keeping.

  33. Practice and uphold the Our Hope Standards of Excellence and Ethical Codes of Conduct.

1. Performs all other work as assigned

Supervision Received:

General Direction: Plans and arranges own work. Uses a wide range of procedures to accomplish assigned objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervision: No supervisory responsibilities.

​

Education & Experience:

1. Active and unrestricted RN/ LPN license

2. Current BLS Certification

3. One year of nursing experienced preferred
