Sous Chef

Position Summary:​

The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive chef in the kitchen at Our Hope Association by performing a variety of duties and projects related to the client’s nutrition, menu planning, inventory management, etc. Work as a team to provide the best possible quality clinical care staying within the scope of the profession.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Greet all visitors to Our Hope, providing direction as needed. Always provide a welcoming environment for all clients and guests.

2. Interface closely with program administration, clinical services, and direct care services.

3. In coordination with the clinical team, implement/manage safe and effective nutrition-related strategies to promote recovery from disordered eating.

4. Ensure daily access of at least 3 nutritious meals and one snack per day (or equivalent per doctor/dietician).

5. Assist clients with skill building: Meal planning, food preparation and basic cooking, etc.

6. Maintain kitchen and kitchen equipment for regulatory compliance.

7. Maintain health and hygiene in the kitchen.

8. Pick up food donations.

9. Manage inventory.

10. Assist in the preparation of quality improvement activities and required reports.

11. Maintain compliance with OSHA, state and federal regulations.

12. Continuously drive and support a healthy and safe culture.

13. Maintain competency in policy rules and regulations.

14. Practice and uphold the Our Hope Standards of Excellence and Ethical Codes of Conduct.

 

Education & Experience:

1. Preferred Culinary Arts Degree/ Certificate or Currently enrolled in Culinary Arts

2. Preferred (1) year of experience in a residential setting

3. Preferred (1) year of experience in a commercial kitchen

4. Valid driver’s license

5. Current certification in First Aid & CPR

6. ServSafe Certified
