Q: Why do you enjoy working with women or in the recovery community?

A: As a woman in recovery myself, I find a great deal of Joy in helping women to get their lives back on track. My role specifically helps them to establish some sustainability and security by enrolling them in the benefit programs that the state of Michigan offers. It feels good to take something that can seem stressful to someone in the beginning stages of recovery and walk them through the process so that they are better set up for success after their time is finished at Our Hope.

Q: What do you bring to Our Hope?

A: I try to bring a lighthearted, funny, and kind energy to Our Hope. If I can make someone laugh or make them feel heard, I feel like my mission is accomplished.

Q: What is one fun fact about you?

A: I play drums in a rock band. One of our biggest accomplishments as a group was opening for Bon Jovi while they were doing their stadium tour. We are set to play a few festivals alongside artists like the Goo Goo Dolls, Dan and Shay, and Train. I love playing music with my best friends and creating lifelong memories, as well as breaking the stereotypes and stigmas that come with being a female drummer!
