Q: Why do you enjoy working with women or in the recovery community?
A: Working at Our Hope allows me the opportunity to share my experience, strength, and hope with women who enter Our Hope. It is a privilege to work with women who are reaching out for help, who feel lost, broken, ashamed and hopeless. Working at Our Hope gives me the satisfaction knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of these women. It's a wonderful experience to see the women heal and grow during the 90-day program. No two days are alike at Our Hope and as a Recovery Technician, it is a busy job. There is always something to do and something new to learn!
Q: What do you bring to Our Hope?
A: I bring an understanding of women's issues in recovery. Many years of teaching has helped me become more patient, compassionate, and a better listener. I've learned to be a team player and work with administrators and the clinical team. I bring integrity and loyalty to Our Hope. I am proud to represent this organization. I bring a bachelor's degree in psychology, which has served to better my understanding of human behaviors.
Q: What is one fun fact about you?
A: Pictured with me is our dog, Penny. She is a lab mix. Penny is a rescue dog we adopted from our vet about 13 years ago, when she was one. She is the sweetest, most lovable dog. Perhaps one day, Our Hope will have a house pet.
Q: Anything else you’d like to add?
A: I am honored to work at Our Hope. There is a definite need in our community regarding long-term residential care for women. It takes the dedication of many people to make this dream a reality. They are an inspiration to me. DREAM BIG!!
